It's a game changer.
I bought a whites rural strainer board. I got 3 strains out of it before it started to slip on the galmax netting. It gave me the sh!ts so decided to try a wireman board. Spoke to Ian (great guy easy to talk to) and picked his brain and asked about other companies stuff in comparison to wireman. Was also happy that he choose not to rubbish talk other companies to get a sale. Went away and called back a couple days later and purchased the west ender. Best thing I did. Very happy with them and wireman’s professionalism. Highly recommended.
Thanks for taking the time to leave the review Stuart. We appreciate the support and are pleased the West Ender is making things easier for you . Cheers, Ian
The rubber on the Jack the grippers made to difficult to attach the wire!! But was a pretty good experience all the same!!!
And the small pins in the joiners of the two sections are a bit small and difficult to us., but was not to bad all the same
We've been using a West Ender strainer board for quite a while and recently bought a second. Both the older and new units are excellent. We have other strainer boards also, but always grab a West Ender as first choice because it's easier to use in several respects (putting on and removing once the job is done, gripping the wire, allows for the release of individual line wires which is occasionally an advantage) and importantly two units can be joined together for use on 1.8m high mesh. We no longer have slipping issues. The second version is an improvement because the orientation on the handles on the grippers is more user friendly - well done designers! We often use a couple of consecutive strainer boards for going around bends in a fence line without the need to cut the mesh and tie off twice. Very solidly built and great all round!
Even better than I thought it would be.
Thanks again for your support over the years Nick, you have been a great help to Wireman. Cheers, Ian
Let customers speak for us
from 202 reviewsExcellent product, as advertised. Quick and easy to use
Spot on. Worth the cash. Very easy to retighten wires.
Awsome
I bought a cheaper brand being my first set but had trouble getting it to crawl along the chain and then once it did lock into the link once under strain, wouldn't release. So I returned it and bought the Wireman version. This was perfect and a one hand operation. It was more expensive but absolutely worth the extra. Had a longer chain and far better clamps.
Well done Wireman.
The best strainer I ever used. Don’t waste your money trying anything else. Great bit of kit
It's a game changer.
Wonderful innovative Australian company. Couldn’t be happier. Thanks.
Fence magician has cut an hour off or day splicing and terminating fabric. That time saved allows us to install more fence which has an impact on our bottom line. Great tool my crew loves it. It’s a must have in your toolbox.
Good product, swift delivery
Best strainers in our kit

I only brought 3 .I tried using 1 on high tensile wire.but I gave it away to hard to handle. Will try on some softer wire.
Over the last few weeks I've been setting up high-tensile fences and repairing quite a few strings of barbed wire. Using the StraineX strainer has been enjoyable compared to the run-of-the-mill strainers. It is FAR easier to set the grippers (this is a huge time saver for me) and the longer chain makes straining to the end post simple.
This is a Super easy to use strainer! First strainer I've used and fence I've put up but man this makes it easy. Gauge takes out all the guess work and the small increment movement of the ratchet helps get the strain spot on. Very happy as I've got kilometres of fencing to go and I'm not going to be fighting the strainer
Strained JTG works well. Used fixing fence on old barb wire. Well built wire clamps hold tight and do not bruise the wire. A little heavy but not a problem. Also used as come along replacing old cable type Power Pull.Might be useful during calving season.
