Prop-A-Weld makes it easy for someone working on their own to weld beams and rails. The steel chain and magnetic brackets grip and clamp to virtually any upright with a vice-like grip. Once in place, the cross beam slide bracket is easily adjusted up or down with millimetre precision to achieve highly accurate placement of the rail on the post.
- Fits any pipe or square section up to 120mm (4.5 inches)
- 3 axis adjustment after the clamp is locked on
- Holds up to 100kg (220 pounds)
- Works inverted to allow clamping 20mm from the ground
- Easy to use trigger action
- Stainless steel construction
Prop-A-Weld sits out from the post or upright and provides plenty of space around the weld seam to get to it with either a stick rod or MIG / TIG torch.
Holding a beam in place by hand has its problems as it’s difficult to keep the rail steady and in position while you try to get a tack on the join. It’s almost impossible to do when the beam is heavy and needs to be level, at a precise angle or close to the ground.
Welding rails or beams to a post is a job often needed on farm for building cattle yards, putting rails on a balustrade, building walkways or making end assemblies. It’s a job often done by fencing contractors and usually requires two people, one person to hold one end of the beam while the other person holds and welds.
Most people will use G-clamps or straps to hold a hold a block to the upright and carefully tap the block and clamp up or down to get level. But that can be difficult to do and can knock the horizontal beam off the block on the other upright. It’s even more difficult when trying to weld cattle rail that doesn’t have a flat bottom edge.
The Prop-A-Weld is a tool that can save you thousands on labour as it allows you to work alone. There will always be that day when you can't get someone to hold up the other end of a rail or pipe.

Excellent quality
Upon first few uses I have noticed the thread from the spring loaded chain lock handle is bent which means it is not much use to me until a repair or replacement part is sorted. Welding splatter on the various thread adjustments could be problematic over time. They are useful when working on your own pending overcoming these few issues noted.
G'day Cameron,
Thanks for your review.
Sorry to hear that you have had a problem with the PROP A WELD.
In terms of the weld spatter, I agree with you that it is an issue. Its why we put the Tee arm away from the clamp point. The only way to try avoid it is to only use the Prop A Weld to get a good tack on the two peices being welded then remove it as soon as possible. One person suggested we supply a leather cover for the tool which is not a bad idea.
With regard to the bent part, I think I know what the issue may be. However, If you can please send us a picture of the offending part and we will send you out a replacement or we can provide a full refund if thats what you would prefer.
Regards,
Ian

makes fencing so much easier, not messing around with old strainers trying to get them
to grap on to the wire.

Fantastic

Brilliant product - how anything so superior and simple compared to competitors took so long to be invented is a mystery. I have used 4 other types of strainer set ups for 1263cm exclusion prefab wire over the last 2 years (including one from Wireman) but the Viceman 1.5m board is an absolute standout for ease and effectiveness. I will be getting another set to use in leapfrogging strains around corners. The the other types of boards in my collection (except the other Wireman which will be useful for simultaneous multi plain wire strains) will be junked.

Awesome piece of equipment.
Does the job beautifully and is quality made.
Highly recommended.

We are so very happy with the pair of Vicemen we recently recieved in super fast delivery to Gotland Sweden! We just learned to operate the clamps but it was very few minutes needed before we managed to speed up the work. We use 90cm sheep mesh and the clamps are so very easy to attach!

Just what we needed! Makes the job fast and easy! Saves hands and money!

great strainers positive on the wire easy to use, conventional strainers have gone to the back of the toolbox as back ups
thanks

fantastic piece of equipment I have done alot of mesh fence with the westender its is quick and easy
thanks

Strain Walker Chain - 5 Metre

Moved into a new rental property with tired, sagging fences. The Bobex have enabled me to quickly tidy things up without expending a lot of time or $$. I'll be buying a few more to always have handy.

Great tool. Well made and works perfect would recommend

Haven’t put it to the test yet but all looks great quality
